How I love Coldplay!

I Speak to Myself

Like a madman chanting verses

you leave this room
unflinching in your resolve to
finish the leftovers of our
broken hearts,
while I,
laugh in tears, in gay abandon

that I crush your spirit in my cruel hands
time and again, a cycle of rhythm
in despair
and you only look at me in silence
saying nothing as we sit
facing the sunset of tide.

I remember watching you leave
and that door-knob, you lightly press on
whispers your essence, a breeze
that still sings your song.

Then I speak to myself
as the woodpecker works away
till dusk
and leave my soul-less life

to go home to its mistress.

Winter

Cold afternoons
misty mornings
My books
they lay unsung.

Together

Do you know me?

See my flowing tresses
as I pour water
down that road.
It flows like a song.
They call my tresses water.

And, my eyes
see right through you
and all that you have done.
Always!
This gaze, they named fire.

Have you seen me dance
through worrisome days?
I live here and I lived there
walking through the corridors
where the moon hid its rays.

And if I were to make love to you,
I'd be there beside you without
you calling me.
Yes, I am air.

one that flows, burns and set free.

Tick-Tock

Have you seen the clock today?

How it seeps
into the 'everyday' of today and tomorrow?
Have you seen the hands ticking away?
How it sounds like a symphony
of time and tide,
dancing together under the moonlit sky?
This Earth is round they say
just like this clock on my wall
and I,
stand transfixed
my gaze
beholds this brilliant nothingness,

and then I fade.

That which creeps slowly

Misty mornings and
cold coffee beans,
dew-drops on my hair
that fall gently on the grass.
I walk on the softness of this Earth
seeking the day’s fading sunshine,
a melancholy,
a song that secretly
wishes for the dusk to come,
and the birds wait
for the bards
to tell stories of travels to
the Southern shores.
I sit on that bench with nothing
but a soap
in my palm,
marked with lines
unfathomable!
I want to erase it all,
this existence
marred, jarred and charred
by the ways of this world.
Languid this body
a tired response
to all you say and do
and I want to go….

….go back to this Earth.

Without Me

Scorned!
Kill me my Brother Men.
Rape me for you are a Man
and you can do
what you do best-
oppress, beat, and shut me up.
But can these walls
curb my spirit?
Can your mighty language
and your reverence to Shakti
justify what you do to me
when you are away
from prying eyes?
Where are the holy gods
when I cry?
Brother men!
Answer me please.
Don't you have a Mother,
a sister and a daughter
that you want to drown me
in White?
Why do you wipe my sisters out
in planned numbers
in waves of hatred?
Kill me now
Kill us all
this moment, this second.
Then we'll tell you
"Thank you! We feel no pain."
